Verizon Digital Strategy
Verizon Digital Strategy- creating a framework around entertainment in the moment for customers on the largest telecommunications network.
We explored 3 key areas that we thought could be good for Verizon to provide this entertainment.
Our target audience were in the age ranges of 24-32 that were on the Unlimited Plan with Verizon in the United States. We knew that this was the ideal target to go after as they have the luxury of spending as much time as they want on their devices.
We created a very simple framework to list out the key areas and see if it met with our business requirements for our client.
Testing took place in three regions of the United States: Norfolk, Colorado Springs, and Austin. We gathered over 20 participants and asked them about their lifestyle, how much they rely on their devices, and what current forms of entertainment they use.
Here is where we wanted to see how users currently behave and see what we can leverage.
After user interviews and us getting a better insight into our customer, we went straight to the drawing board.
For us, it was more about quantity than quality to see what really stuck. We wanted to differentiate ourselves but still keep it in the territory in which our millennial customers can still relate to.
Our team knew that being a content provider was an oversaturated space, so we needed to differentiate ourselves.
We wanted to see what really stood out for our customer segment and what they found interesting and engaging. Even the slightest bit of interest would be jotted down and later implemented into our designs.
The creative team moved fast with sketching and into Invision for prototypes, which then went to the environment for testing.
We wanted our users to have the choice of seeing whatever it was that they wanted. We had the ability to leverage what Verizon has content wise, so our users were able to have this freedom.
This curated content would only be available once; our team felt that this would create a strong desire to come back and see what's new in their feed.
Once the user goes through everything, a new fresh set of content will appear for them.
We also didn't forget about their friends or family. There was a strong desire from our client that they wanted to have a communal aspect to this.
We created a system where users can share news articles, movie trailers and recipes with each other.
